Firefighter Retirement Class

Brothers and Sisters,
We are strongly encouraging full participation in the upcoming Firefighter Retirement Class
scheduled for:
Date: Wednesday, August 14th & Thursday, August 15th
Time: 0800–1500 each day
Location: PDC
This essential 2-day course is the result of a direct collaboration between Local F-294 and
Fire Chief Garza, developed specifically to address the unique retirement system and
benefits applicable to federal firefighters. It is a rare opportunity to receive firefighter-
specific retirement education, and your attendance is highly encouraged.
Important Notes:
  • On-duty crews from Stations 1, 2, and 4 will be in attendance.
  • Off-duty personnel are authorized to earn Comp Time for full participation.
  • Attendance for both days is mandatory. If you attend the first day, you are expected to
    attend the second day as well for continuity and completion of material.
This is not just a briefing—it’s an investment in your career, benefits, and future. We urge
you to take full advantage of this opportunity.
